STRINGTOWN RECORDS JOHN MICHAEL MONTGOMERY HELPS ANNOUNCE HARD ROCK CAFÉ PARTNERSHIP WITH CMA’S KEEP THE MUSIC PLAYING
NASHVILLE, TN—Multi-platinum selling artist John Michael Montgomery was on hand this morning at the Hard Rock Café in Nashville, TN as an announcement was made regarding the partnership of the Hard Rock Café with the Country Music Association’s highly successful program, “Keep the Music Playing.”
“Keep The Music Playing” is a charitable initiative that funds music programs in the Metro Nashville School System, in partnership with the Nashville Alliance for Public Education (NAPE).
This past March, the CMA donated more then $1 million from 2008 CMA Music Fest proceeds to the more than 75,000 students in Metro Nashville. To date, the CMA has donated over $2.2 million to music education in public schools.
This year, Hard Rock Café and the CMA are partnering to raise even more money for “Keep the Music Playing,” by offering special commemorative pins for purchase, with portions of the proceeds going directly to “Keep the Music Playing.” The pins, offered in two designs, will be for sale at the Hard Rock Café in Nashville as well as the Hard Rock Café booth in the Greased Lightning Fan Fair Exhibit Hall in the Nashville Convention Center.
John Michael Montgomery helped make the announcement this morning by explaining the importance of music in schools and how much he enjoyed music classes in school. Montgomery also shared a personal story of his son’s recent show at his own school and the effect that music has had on their family.
“It’s great to see the CMA step up to the plate with a program like ‘Keep the Music Playing.’ The impact on children who are exposed to music is incredible and it’s important to keep these programs alive.”
John Michael Montgomery’s recent release, TIME FLIES was released on Montgomery’s own label, Stringtown Records and features the single, “Forever.”
